Author Note

My name is Bryan Trent and I'm this site's owner and admin. I served in the Chile Osorno Mission from 1993-1995 and love telling missionary stories. So, I decided to make a blog to share them before they are forgotten, and to allow other former missionaries to do the same. This blog site is completely FREE for use as a resource and to share your stories as long as you are not publishing content for profit. Easily share posts and content on social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter, or send content via email. Please visit the "Policies" tab before posting, and the FAQ tab if you have any questions. Refrain from negative or distasteful comments and foul language please.

May I copy, download or use content from this blog?
All content posted to this blog is considered to be copyright protected. Members and friends of the church may peruse, search, read, laugh at, be inspired by, copy, download, print and reference content in this blog free of charge without additional written permission from the blog owner or admin. You may also share content from this blog, either posted by you or posted by somebody else, on social networking sites like facebook and twitter, and you may email links to this blog to people you know.

However, you may not use content from this blog in deflamatory, anti-mormon, degrading, humiliating manners, and you may not copy, download, print or store content for use in your book, newspaper, magazine, web site, another blog, or other published or printed materials, or for the purpose of making money, without explicit written permission from this blog’s owners or admin.

What are categories and tags?
Great question!

Categories are created by the administrator before hand. When you post a story you can select one or more appropriate categories before it is published. Users can sort stories by category very easily.

Tags are similar to categories but they are created by the individual authors when posts are created and not by the administrator. You can have multiple tags for any one story, and you can have tags that may never be used for any other blog post.

You do not need to associate categories or tags in your posts for posts to show up in search results.
What type of content is appropriate for this blog?
Anyone who has served a mission for the Church of JESUS Christ of Latter Day Saints can post memories, journal entries, testimonials and stories from their missionary experiences. People may also post stories about something that may have happened to a song, daughter or other loved one while person served a mission. Content posted to this site should be true and accurate to the best of your ability. However, we do understand that sometimes over the years our minds do change the details a bit and we allow for that (the fish seems to get a little bigger every year!).

If you post a story that you know to be a rumor or a yarn, just let us know that you’re not sure if it’s true. If you post a story about something you heard or learned 3rd party (your uncle’s son’s wife’s brother-in-law had it happen to him…) just let us know.

Please avoid using real names, except when pertaining to public people (like leaders in the church), places, etc. We don’t want to emberass anyone or hurt people’s feelings here.

If anything might be construed as degrading, humiliating, inflamatory, hate related, or anything of the sort please don’t post it! I’d hate to see somebody stop going to church because of something their ex-missionary companion put on the Internet.

Please police yourselves and if you are concerned with any comments or posts let the admin know so that the post can be removed.
Who can post?
Anyone can post stories and anyone can comment on existing posts. However, we require users to be registered and logged in before posting or commenting is allowed.

Administration, Registration and Login

How do I login?
If you are already registed as a user of this blog site, simply click on the “Login” link at the right side of any page. Then enter your username and password.
Must I be a registered user to post or comment on this blog?
Yes, to post or comment you must be a registered user. You must also be a registered user to rate content on this blog.

If you have already registered but are not logged in you may be permitted to make comments, rate content and perform other activities because the blog posts a coookie on your computer when you first register and the site thereafter knows you have pre-registered. Pretty fancy isn’t it!

Policies

Is this website affiliated with the Church of JESUS Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons)?
This website is independently owned and operated, and it is in no way affiliated with the Church of JESUS Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS church). However, its owner(s) are long-time members of the LDS church and this website is intended for use primarily by members of the LDS church.
May I add links to my own website in my blog posts?
Adding links to blogs can be a great way to increase search engine traffic to your website. For that reason, we allow users to post a single link to their own personal, non-business web site in any blog post. We do not allow multiple links and we do not allow links to any business related web site, either public or private. The exception is that we do allow links to any official website of the Church of JESUS Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS Church), and we allow links to mission websites.

Inappropriate links will cause the post to be removed by the admin. This blog is not in the business of giving your business free advertising. Sorry.
Which languages are supported in this blog?
This blog supports both English and Spanish users and content. That’s only because the admin speaks and reads English and Spanish. If I bring on another admin that speaks other languages perhaps I will eventually provide additional support.
